Talking Newspaper
Talking Newspaper
Our Talking Newspaper Service is much more than an audio version of the local news. It offers an intimate sense of belonging to our listeners, particularly for those who live alone, and keeps them in touch with the local community.
Every week the Beacon Centre provides a free 90-minute Talking Newspaper mp3, covering local news, features, information, music requests, and much more. Around 1,200 people are registered for the service with 400 mp3 players being sent out each week.
Extra Talking Newspapers are also sent out and they include:
- Asian Talking Newspaper – sent out monthly
- Beacon View Magazine – send twice yearly
- Sandwell Talking Newspaper – sent weekly
