Beacon Centre for the Blind talking newspaper producer Martyn Barnbrook turned 50 and celebrated by cutting off all of his long hair. Raising much needed funds for the Beacon Centre for the Blind
When asked when he was getting his hair cut, Martyn Barnbrook, producer of Beacon Centre for the Blind’s Talking Newspaper, would reply “when I’m 50”. This year Martyn celebrated his big birthday with a new look. A short sporty style has replaced the heavy locks that reached the middle of his back. Gone also is the long moustache. The transformation is so dramatic that some colleagues have walked past without recognising him. It is eleven years since Martyn has worn his hair short and despite the warm weather he’s finding it draughty around the neck. “I expect I’ll notice a big difference when winter comes,” he said. Sponsorship for the haircut has raised £245 for Beacon Centre for the Blind and Raptor Rescue at Hagley Falconry Centre.
