Beacon Centre launches ActivEyes
ActivEyes has been set up by the Beacon Centre for the Blind and Wolverhampton City Council to support adults with a visual impairment to participate in more leisure activities and enjoy other events.
If you are visually impaired we want you to tell us you want to do, it can be anything from going to a concert or playing sports to meeting new people we will do our best to help make it happen.
We hope to develop links with sports and leisure centres, entertainment venues, bars and coffee shops in order to encourage them to set up sessions or social groups for visually impaired people, and to make any sessions that they may already have more accessible and more widely known.
ActivEyes volunteers will be on hand to help people who need extra support, and to help arrange transport to and from their destination, but where possible visually impaired people will be encouraged to overcome any difficulties themselves.
