Award for Beacon Centre
Award for Beacon Centre
Beacon Centre for the Blind is celebrating its second award for demonstrating excellence in effective management and development of its people.
The Beacon Centre was presented with its second Investor in People award. Mike Judge, Chairman of the West Midlands Quality Centre and former HR Director of Peugeot, presented the certificate to Mollie Mackelworth, Chairman of Beacon Centre on Tuesday 17th July.
The Investor in People award provides a framework that helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through effective management and development of their people. Beacon Centre for the Blind was first awarded the standard back in 2004, showing it had the right people with the right skills in the right place to provide services to over 3,000 blind and partially sighted people.
The Beacon Centre continued to develop and improve the way it operates and the efforts have been recognised once again with a second Investors in People Award.
Ian Ferguson, Chief Executive at the Beacon Centre, says: 'This award is a further reflection of the continued hard work of all our trustees, staff and volunteers. It shows we have the right structures in place for everyone working and volunteering at the Beacon Centre to help us continue to deliver excellent services to the blind and partially sighted people in our local community. We are delighted to receive this award.'
