I’m sure everyone will agree that being able to see is essential to most people’s quality of life.   Yet with government figures predicting a rise of 35% on current figures for visual impairment by the year 2020, sight loss is something that many of us will have to contend with as we grow older.

For those with a severe visual impairment every day life can be difficult without practical and emotional support.   That is why we are supporting the Beacon Centre Gala Dinner at the ICC, Birmingham on Thursday 12th February 2009.  It promises to be a memorable event, providing an exceptional hospitality opportunity with outstanding speakers David Blunkett, MP, entertainer Tom O’Connor and Bob Warman acting as host for the evening.  All proceeds will go to Beacon Centre’s Second Site Appeal.

We are hoping that you will also support this prestigious event by taking a table.  You might also consider some of the sponsorship opportunities available, including the opportunity for a principal sponsor to have the event named and branded.

We are excited by Beacon Centre for the Blind’s plans for the future and the new services they will be launching to improve the lives of the region’s visually impaired and would urge you not to miss this spectacular event.

You will find a booking form attached to this web-site and would encourage you to book early as we expect this event to be heavily subscribed.
