There are loads of exciting ways to support the Beacon Centre. Our programme of events runs throughout the year and offers something for everyone. Have a look below at how you can join in – or why not organise your own event? You’ll find lots of info on this page.
There are lots of events to take part in. Our events offer challenges to suit both individuals and groups, giving you a chance to try something new while helping to raise much needed funds for people with sight loss in your area. For any event you take part in we will give you all the support that you need.

Organise your own fundraising event
Organising your own fundraising event, whether large or small, is a great way to get your family, friends or work colleagues involved while raising funds for your local charity.
Whatever your interests, we’ll be able to build a fundraising activity around them. We will help you every step of the way, with ideas, advice, posters, tickets, press coverage and sponsor forms.
Fundraising is regulated by law and our team can make sure that you keep safe and legal.
To discuss information about an event please contact fundraising on 01902 880111, or email her on firstname.lastname@example.org
Whatever you do, thank you and have fun!
Inspiration: past events
Take a look at events that our supporters have already organised, they might give you ideas and inspiration.
Those who like a sporting challenge have walked on fire and ice, played golf, football and cricket, cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats on an exercise bike and have trekked to far flung places.
Those with musical and theatrical talents have organised musical evenings and comedy nights, poetry evenings and talent shows.
For gastronomes there have been curry and quiz nights, wine tastings, dinners, pub fun evenings and picnics.
For children, there have been sponsored events, competitions, quizzes and art days.
We’ve also had fashion shows and great escapes, car washes and auctions.
