Beacon Centre for the Blind has a number of solutions to enhance your communication needs.
From our origins over 130 years ago, we have continued to ensure we are at the forefront of effective communication for people with sight loss. We now have a range of services for businesses, public authorities and third sector organisations that will enhance ways of communication with people with a visual impairment. These include;
- Audio transcription of existing documentation to reach people with sight loss.
- Audio description of services and facilities in CD or Mp3 format for distribution to people with visual impairment or web hosting.
- Advertising or public service announcements within our weekly Talking Newspaper service.
All this using our 'state of the art' recording facilities.
- Transcription into Braille of any relevant document for use by readers of Braille. Tis can include dual sided embossing to reduce the use of paper.
- Advice on producing documents in large text format to reach people with a visual impairment.
- Advice & guidence on signage and access needs for all types of buildings.
